KARL STORZ VentureONE, as identified in Sec. 7 (Contact us) below, (“KARL STORZ” or “we” or “us”) is pleased about your visit to our career portal (“Career Portal”) as well as your interest in working at our company. We take the protection of your personal data serious and we want you to feel comfortable visiting our Career Portal. The protection of your privacy in the processing of personal data is an important concern for us, which we take into account in our business processes.     If you apply for a job on our Career Portal, we may collect and process the following personal data about you (inter alia): full name, academic title, date of birth, postal address, email address, telephone number, mobile number, termination period (current employment), how you have found KARL STORZ, earliest possible entry date, contract type (regular, temporary), school qualification, job education, professional experience and abilities, further experience, preferred communication language, expected compensation, photo, job references, driving licence information (depending on the position), student status (depending on the position), language skills (depending on the position), as well as further personal data provided by you in formula fields, your cover note, CV and other attachments you send to us.
     
    Special categories of personal data If provided by you, the personal data we collect about you may qualify as special categories of personal data such as information about any disability. However, we will generally not explicitly ask you to provide such sensitive data.
     
    Source of your personal data We obtain the above-mentioned personal data, including special categories of personal data, directly from you in your application or during job interviews with you.

    Processing purposes
    We process your personal data only for purposes necessary for the recruiting process, in particular to review and assess your job application, to make a hiring decision, and to complete the hiring process in case you should be offered and accept a position at KARL STORZ. Furthermore, we process your personal data to comply with applicable laws, such as employment and immigration laws and employment-related requirements, and to be able to communicate with you, within KARL STORZ and/or with third parties (such as government officials).     Recipients within the KARL STORZ Group Your personal data may be received by different recipients within the KARL STORZ Group (click here to see a list of the KARL STORZ Entities: www.karlstorz.com). Depending on the position you apply for different KARL STORZ entities and internal departments within the KARL STORZ Group may have access to your personal data for the above-mentioned purposes. We will transfer your personal data in particular to those KARL STORZ entities who offer the position you applied for or you showed an interest in.

    Transfer to service providers
    We will transfer your personal data to rexx systems GmbH in Germany who acts as our service provider in order to administrate and provide the Career Portal. A web analytics tool of Indeed (Indeed Ireland Operations, Ltd., 124 St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2, Ireland), is also used on this website. In order to analyse the use of the website and Indeed.com (if applicable), certain user data is transmitted by your browser, collected and analysed by Indeed. In order to record this user data, Indeed may use one or more cookies. In addition, the IP address assigned to your device at the time in question, as well as a browser- specific identifier, is transmitted. The IP address is required solely for the purpose of session identification and geolocation (up to city level).

    Other recipients
    We may transfer – in compliance with applicable data protection law personal data to external advisors like interim managers, personnel consultants, advisors for personnel development, law enforcement agencies, governmental authorities, judicial authorities, legal counsels, external consultants, or business partners. In case of a corporate merger or acquisition, personal data may be transferred to the third parties involved in the merger or acquisition. We will not disclose your personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes or for any other purposes without permission.

  3. Legal basis for the processing
    We may carry out the processing of your personal data in connection with the Career Portal generally on the following legal basis:
    • You have given your consent to the processing of your data for one or more specific purposes;
    • The processing is necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract;

If you want to apply for a job using the Career Portal, you must provide your personal data except in limited instances when we indicate that certain information is voluntary. Not providing your personal data may prevent KARL STORZ from reviewing and assessing your job application and may require KARL STORZ to reject your job application.

  6. How long do we keep your personal data?
    Unless you consented to a longer retention period, your personal data is stored by KARL STORZ strictly to the extent necessary to assess your job application and carry out the hiring

    Process and for the time necessary to achieve those purposes. When we no longer need to use your personal data, we will remove it from our systems and records and/or take steps to properly anonymize it so that you can no longer be identified from it (unless we need to keep your personal data to comply with legal or regulatory obligations to which we are subject).

    In principle, we will delete your personal data 6 months after a negative hiring decision by KARL STORZ or after your rejection of a job offer from KARL STORZ.

    If you accept an offer from us, your personal data will be retained for the duration of your employment with KARL STORZ.
